Bryan was adopted when 2 days old by Gary and Nancy Kehl, and is one of 6 adopted and 3 natural children in the Kehl family. He grew up in Sandy, Utah and graduated with high marks from Brighton High School in 2002. Bryan earned a perfect 4.0 GPA from 8th grade through 12th grade, and made the Academic All-State team in 2001. He earned 1st-team all-state honors in 2001, as well as the Region 2 MVP. Bryan was recruited by BYU, Utah, Utah State, Oregon, Harvard, Yale, Penn, and a host of other academic schools. He accepted a football scholarship to BYU where he played in 2002 and from 2005-2007, taking 2 years off to serve a Church of Jesus Christ mission to Toronto, Canada from the summer of 2003-2005. Bryan majored in Mechanical Engineering, before leaving to train for the NFL combine. He later finished his undergraduate degree with a BS in Economics. At BYU, Bryan was a 2-year starter, and as a senior in 2007 earned 1st-team All Mountain West Conference honors, as well as the team’s Defensive MVP and Strength & Conditioning awards. He made the Academic All-Conference teams in 2002 and 2005. In April, 2008 Bryan was drafted in the 4th round by the New York Giants. His biological father and brother were also NFL draft picks. He played 6 years in the NFL, before an ACL injury cut his career short. Bryan played for 4 clubs: 2008 and 2009 with the Giants, 2010 and 2011 with the Rams, 2012 and 2013 with the Redskins and Chiefs. Bryan is married to Jessica Bingham, whom he met at BYU, and they have an 11-year-old named Jayda, a 10-year-old named Cruz, and 7-year-old named Jersey. After the NFL, Bryan completed a Masters degree in Finance, and now works in private equity, consulting, and public speaking.
